Mrs. Josephine Everline Boyd Traynham of Scottsburg, VA died on Wednesday, February 19th at the age of 83.

 

Mrs. Traynham was born in Halifax County, VA on May 18, 1941 to the late Bob Lee Boyd and Mary Susie Jones Boyd and was married to the late Roger Lee Traynham.

 

Mrs. Traynham is survived by (8) children: Donna Younger (Sylvester), Roger Traynham, Dorothy Traynham, Arthur Traynham (Maria), all of Scottsburg, VA, James Traynham (Laretha) of Chase City, VA, David Traynham of Drakes Branch, VA, and Nancy Traynham and Dwayne Traynham (Felicia Letterman), all of the home; (2) sisters: Tryshain Hamlett of Halifax, VA and Ella Jones (Charlie) of Clover, VA; (1) brother, Willie Boyd (Marie) of Washington, DC; (1) sister-in-law; (4) brothers-in-law; (17) grandchildren, (22) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (2) sisters: Lola Carrington and Dora Hamlett; (2) brothers: Frank Boyd and Joe Boyd; and (1) great grandchild.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Everline Traynham will be Thursday, February 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Claiborne, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be on Wednesday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
