Deacon Frank David Cole of South Boston died Tuesday, May 7th at the age of 80.

Deacon Cole was born in Campbell County, VA on February 20, 1944, to the late George Washington Cole and Fannie Bowman Cole. He was married to Shirley White Cole and was a member of Berry Hill Baptist Church.

Deacon Cole is survived by his wife, Shirley White Cole of the home; (4) children: Barbara Reed (Clifford) of Vernon Hill, VA, Wanda Cole of the home, David Cole (Fayesha) of Chesterfield, VA and Kenneth Cole of South Boston, VA; (2) children he raised: Tony Jones of Comstock, NY and Shakita Jones of PA; (10) grandchildren; (4) great grandchildren; (6) sisters: Gladys Hartridge, Dorothy Whitlock, Clarice Hubbard (George), Lena Edmonds, Bessie Cole and Ruby Pannell (Rev. Dr. Hubert Pannell); (6) brothers-in-law; (6) sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Arbella Cole; (5) brothers; and (3) sisters.

Funeral services for Deacon Frank David Cole will be held Wednesday, May 15th at 1:00 p.m. with services at Berry Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Haynes, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

​

Public viewing for family and friends will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Tuesday from noon until 6:00 p.m.
