Mrs. Joanne Willis Ferguson of Nathalie, VA died May 6th at the age of 77.

Mrs. Ferguson was born in Halifax County, VA on December 20, 1946 to the late John Thomas Tucker and Cora Louise Clark Tucker and was married to the late Cyrus William Ferguson, Jr. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church and was a retired employee from The United States Postal Service.

Mrs. Ferguson is survived by (1) son, Marshall Tucker, Sr. (Anadee) of Hampton, VA; (2) daughters: LaToya Reese (Reginald) of Columbia, SC and Janine Stephens of Halifax, VA; (11) grandchildren; (12) great grandchildren; (5) stepsons: Cyrus Ferguson, James Ferguson, Howard Ferguson, Carl Ferguson and Eric Ferguson; (1) stepdaughter, Dorothea Bell (Robert); (1) sister, Betty Manson; (1) brother, Larry Tucker; a host of bonus  grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) sister, Jennie Lockett; (1) brother, Thomas Tucker and (1) stepdaughter, Audrey Jackson.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Joanne Willis Ferguson will be Tuesday, May 14th at 11 a.m. with services at New Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Willie N. Yancey, eulogist. Burial will follow in The Ferguson Family Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from noon until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral home.
