Deacon Ervin Jackson Talley of South Boston, VA died on Thursday, May 2nd at the age of 75.

 

Deacon Talley was born in Halifax County on April 18, 1949 to the late Dorothy Talley Tuck and Ernest Williamson and was married to Catherine Robertson Talley. He joined White Oak Fork Baptist Church at an early age and later in life became a member of Greater Mayfield Apostolic Church.

 

Deacon Talley is survived by his wife, Catherine Talley of the home; (2) sons: Ervin Talley of the home and DeWayne Talley (Channell) of Baltimore, MD; (5) granddaughters; (2) sisters: Mary Lipscomb and Carolyn Terry (Leroy); (5) brothers: Robert Lee, Stanley (Valerie), Otis Rodney (Janay) and Lorenza; (1) uncle; (1) aunt; (1) great aunt; (8) sisters- in- law; (4) brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parent, he was preceded in death by (1) grandson, Lil Ervin; (1) brother, Darryl and (1) sister, Rose Marie.

 

Funeral service for Deacon Ervin Jackson Talley will be Friday, May 10th at 11 a.m. at South Boston Church of God with Suffragan Bishop Bernard Wilkins, eulogist. Burial will follow in White Oak Fork Baptist Church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday morning one hour prior to service,
