Mrs. Vanessa “Annabell” Hughes Venable of Halifax, VA died on Sunday, January 14th at the age of 65.

 

Mrs. Venable was born April 26, 1958 in Milton, NC to Van Cooper Hughes and the late Essie Mae Thaxton Hughes and was married to the late Houston Barry Venable. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church, Milton, NC.

 

Mrs. Venable is survived by (1) daughter, Terran Shatila Hughes; (3) grandchildren: Michael Hankins, Shamaya Hughes and Jordan Hughes; her father, Van Hughes; (1) sister, Deborah Johnson; (3) brothers: Ellis Hughes, Donnell Hughes, and Charles Hughes; her mother-in-law: Sudie Holt Venable; (2) sisters-in-law; (2) aunts; (1) uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including (2) devoted friends: Carolyn Smith and Elmer Ferrell. In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by (1) son, Michael Hughes; (1) brother, Keith Hughes; (1) sister, Janet Hughes; and (2) brothers-in-law: Andre Venable and Ernest Johnson, Sr.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Vanessa Hughes Venable will be Sunday, January 21st at 2:00 p.m. at New Haven Baptist Church, Milton, NC.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home and the family will be present from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
