Mrs. Louise Pointer Sparks of Alton, Va died Tuesday, April 23rd at the age of 86.

Mrs. Sparks was born October 23, 1937 in Halifax County, VA to the late Samuel E. Pointer and Eliza Brandon Pointer and was married to the late Albert Sparks. She was a member of Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sparks is survived by (1) daughter, Wendy S. Hobbs (Milton) of Goochland, Va; (1) granddaughter, Shecorie Conley; (2) grandsons: Delvin (Jukita) and Reginald Hobbs; (2) great-grandchildren; (1) brother, Lark Pointer of Brooklyn, NY; (1) sister-in-law; and a host of nieces including Gwendolyn Pointer and Brenda Harris, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline “Jackie” Sparks and twenty siblings.

Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Pointer Sparks will be Monday, April 29th at 1 p.m. at Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

​

Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
