Deaconess Emeritus Rosa Belle Cole of South Boston, VA died Monday, March 25th at the age of 96.

 

Deaconess Cole was born in Halifax County, VA on September 26, 1927 to the late John White and Ellen Crawley White. She was married to the late Deacon George Thomas Cole and was a member of Berry Hill Baptist Church.

 

Deaconess Cole is survived by (4) children: John Cole, Sr. and Mary Sims, both of South Boston, VA, Rosa Jefferson of Raleigh, NC and Wilma Edmondson (James) of Halifax, VA; (6) grandchildren; (10) great grandchildren; (1) sister, Pearlean Crawley of Halifax, VA; (1) brother, George White of Rocky Mount, NC; (1) niece;  (3) sons-in-law; (2) brothers-in-law; (6) sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by (2) daughters: Yvonne C. Wood and Frances C. Ragsdale; (1) grandson, Jamar Wood; and (1) sister, Marian Myles.

 

Funeral services for Deaconess Emeritus Rosa Belle Cole will be held Tuesday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. with services at The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax, VA with Bishop Anthony Miller, eulogist. Burial will follow in Berry Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Monday from noon until 6:00 p.m.
