Mr. John Henry Dunaway of Crystal Hill, VA died on Tuesday, March 26th at the age of 66.

 

Mr. Dunaway was born on July 18, 1957 in Halifax County, VA to the late Willie Dunaway and Louella Lipford Dunaway Bates and was married to Shelia Lovelace Dunaway. He retired from Dominion Power after 34 years of service and was the owner of Smokin Butts Catering.

 

Mr. Dunaway is survived by his wife: Shelia Dunaway of the home; (1) daughter: Dana Dunaway; (3) brothers: Jessie Dunaway (Beverly) of Heber Springs, AR, Willis “Bill” Dunaway (Marsha) of Weathersfield, CT and Cecil Dunaway of Hartford, CT; (5) sisters: Lillian Sawyer and Willie Clancy, both of Florence, SC, Percy Lipscomb of Windsor, CT, Laura Pace of East Hartford, CT, Patricia Ralph of Bloomfield, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (3) sisters: Mary Dunaway Brown, Rebecca Macklin and Alice Carter; and (1) brother: Aubrey Dunaway.

 

Funeral services for Mr. John Henry Dunaway will be Tuesday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Banister Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. William F. Carr, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Crystal Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
