Mr. James Howard Coleman of Halifax, VA died on November 10, 2024 at the age of 91.

 

Mr. Coleman was born in Halifax, VA on November 4, 1933 to the late Howard Coleman and Lora Mitchell Coleman and was married to the late Ruby Coleman. He was a member of Spanish Grove Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Coleman is survived by (3) sons: Harry Coleman (Mary), Michael Coleman (Joanne), both of Nathalie, VA and Donald Coleman of Halifax, VA; (3) daughters: Christine Coleman and Donna Coleman, both of Halifax, VA and Angela Coleman-Hill (Webster, III) of Richmond, VA; (8) grandchildren; (6) great grandchildren; (3) brothers: Charlie Coleman, Pete Coleman (Francis) and Richard Coleman;  (1) sister-in-law; (1) brother-in-law;  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by (3) sisters: Georgeanna Eargle, Lucille Toone, and Mabel Lovelace; and (2) brothers: Nathaniel Coleman and Dwight Coleman.

 

Funeral services for Mr. James Howard Coleman will be Monday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home with Rev. John Craighead, eulogist. Burial will follow in Spanish Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
