Mr. Albert Leroy Thaxton of South Boston, VA died on Friday, December 13th at the age of 75.

 

Mr. Thaxton was born on July 11, 1949 in Halifax County, VA to the late Joshua Thaxton and Hattie Sue Womack Thaxton. Mr. Thaxton was never married and was a member of Jeter Chapel Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Thaxton is survived by his siblings: Ida Roberts, John Thaxton, Joseph Thaxton, Nannie Joseph, David Thaxton, William Thaxton, and Rufus Thaxton; (1) sister-in-law,  Annie Thaxton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (3) sisters: Mary Faulkner, Emma Thaxton and Maude Thaxton; (2) brothers: Herman Thaxton and Robert Lee Thaxton; (1) stepsister, Eunice Travis; and (2) stepbrothers: Junior Thaxton and Jesse Thaxton.

 

Funeral services for Mr.  Albert Leroy Thaxton will be Monday, December 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Jeter Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Roberts, Sr., eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday, December 22nd, from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
