Mr. Henry Louis Medley of Halifax, VA died on Tuesday, December 17th at the age of 80.

 

Mr. Medley was born in Halifax County, VA on November 30, 1944 to the late John Medley and Martha Cosby Medley. He was married to Ruth P. Medley and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church,  Halifax, VA. He was a retired VDOT employee.

 

Mr. Medley is survived by his wife, Ruth P. Medley of the home; (3) daughters: Jacqueline Medley and Rochelle Medley, both of NC and Frances Pettway (Jason) of GA; (5) grandchildren:  Jonathan Harris, Jaren Woody, Leah Woody, Mason Pettway  and Matthew Pettway; (2) sisters-in-law; (2) brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special cousin, Doris Lawson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (2) sisters: Millie Carter and Martha Logan; (2) brothers: John Medley and Linwood Medley; and mother-in-law, Annie P. Brooks.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Henry Louis Medley will be held Sunday, December 22nd at 2:00 p.m. with services at New Bethel Baptist Church, Halifax, VA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends at their home, 4183 Mountain Road, Halifax, VA.
