Mr. James Edward Woody, Sr. of South Boston, VA died Saturday November 30th at the age of 71.

 

Mr. Woody was born February 11, 1953 in Halifax, VA to the late Thomas C. Woody, Sr. and Emily Lee Woody and was married to the late Carolyn Woody.

 

Mr. Woody is survived by (2) daughters: Lenika Woody of Philadelphia, PA and Emily Woody of Danville, VA; (10) grandchildren; (4) brothers: Thomas Calvin Woody, Jr. (Shirley), Larry Woody (Nora), Woodrow Woody (Isis), all South Boston, VA and Charles Woody (Angela) of Halifax, VA; (4) sisters: Brenda C. Noell of Durham, NC, Frances Kirby (Samuel), Willie Woody, both of South Boston, VA  and Nakia L. Jones of Danville, VA; step brother and step sister,  Gary Jones (Monica) and Sherrie Garland (Bobby), both of Danville, VA; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, and parents, he was preceded in death by (1) son, James E. Woody, Jr.; (1) daughter, Joy Stephens; and (2) brothers: George Woody and Tyrone Woody.

 

Funeral services for Mr. James Edward Woody, Sr. will be Saturday, December 14th at 11:00 a.m. at The Crawford House. Burial will follow in Rose Garden Cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
