Joseph Carson Farmer

Suffragan Bishop Joseph Carson Farmer of Ringgold, VA died on Thursday, November 28th at the age of 76.

Mr. Farmer was born May 3, 1948 in Halifax County, VA to the late Benjamin Farmer, Sr and Sue Ester Edmonds Farmer and was married to Sarah Blackwell Farmer. He was the Pastor of White Stone Pentecostal Church and was a United States Navy Veteran.

Bishop Farmer is survived by his wife, Sarah Farmer; (1) son, Carson O. Farmer (Raquel); (1) daughter, LaTanya C. Farmer; (3) grandchildren: Kayla and Khalil Farmer and Justen Hinkson; (1) great grandson, Jayden Cole; (1) brother, Benjamin Farmer, Jr. (Doris); (6) sisters: Zelma Hood, Essie White, Joan Farmer, DeLois Wilkins (Suffragan Bishop Bernard), Lillian Johnson and Brenda Farmer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (1) brother, Edward Farmer and (2) sisters: Minerva Caddle and Gloria Jordan.

Funeral services for Suffragan Bishop Joseph Carson Farmer will be Friday, December 6th at 11:00 a.m. at White Stone Pentecostal Church with Bishop Delmar Jackson, eulogist. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Danville, VA.

Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to service Friday.
