Mr. William Leon Harris of South Boston, VA died on Wednesday, November 13th at the age of 91.

 

Mr. Harris was born October 27, 1933 in Halifax County, VA to the late Ruth Harris Royster and was married to the late Winifred Faulkner Harris and later married the late Anna Mosley Ballard. He retired from Washington, DC public schools and was a member of First Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Harris is survived by (1) son, Whitney Harris (Sharon); (1) bonus son, Jerry Hicks; (2) bonus daughters: Cathy Wellington and Linda Lee; (1) brother, Robert Royster; (1) sister, Lorraine Waller; (15) grandchildren, including Quintae Wheeler; (30) great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.  In addition to his mother and wife, he was preceded in death by (3) sisters: Eunice Brandon, Parthenia Royster and Deloris Royster; (2) bonus daughters: Elaine Coleman and Beverly Lee; and (1) granddaughter, Elise Ballard.

 

Funeral services for Mr. William Leon Harris will be Friday, November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church South Boston, VA with Rev. Allan G. Smith, Sr, eulogist. Burial will follow in St. Mark Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday, November 21st from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
