Mrs. Verna Mae Walker of South Boston, VA died on Friday, March 8th at the age of 85.

 

Mrs. Walker was born December 18, 1938 in Halifax County, VA to the late Johnny King and Sarah King. She was married to the late Robert Walker and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

 

Mrs. Walker is survived by (2) sons: Sylvester Walker (Darlene), and Robert Walker, Jr. (Rachael); (6) daughters: Shirley Timothy, Josephine Ragland (Larry), Angela Harris (Lawrence), Andrea Kirby, Teresa Parrish, and Belinda Walker; (24) grandchildren; (47) great grandchildren; (1) sister: Bernice Marable; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) daughter, Vera;(1) son, Frederick; and (4) siblings. 

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Verna Mae Walker will be Thursday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m.  at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
