Pastor Jean Esther Harris of Halifax County, VA died on May 23rd  at the age of 76.

 

Pastor Harris was born in Halifax County, VA on March 16, 1948, to the late Clyde E. Sydnor and Rosa Mae Owen and her devoted step-father, Andrew Owen. She was a US Army Veteran and was active in the community running The Missionary Food Bank, serving food and caring for the homeless. She was also a safety advocate.

Pastor Harris is survived by (1) daughter, Irvetta; (2) grandchildren; (3) brothers: Donald Harris, Clyde Sydnor and Clarence Sydnor; (3) sisters: Shirley Barksdale, Nancy Sydnor and Amy Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (2) brothers: James A. Harris and James D. Sydnor; and (1) sister, Sylvia M. Miles.

 No services were held for Pastor Jean Esther Harris.
