Mr. Richard Morgan of South Boston, VA died Thursday, September 19th at the age of 79.

 

Mr. Morgan was born in Halifax County, VA on April 9, 1945 to the late John H. Morgan and Martha Pearl Long Morgan. He was married to the late Vernisa Chavious Morgan and was a member of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Morgan is survived by (1) daughter, Cassandra Morgan Edmunds; (1) son, Tony Morgan (Kristie); (2) granddaughters: Tymisha Morgan and Jade Edmunds; (1) great grandson, Noah R. Morgan; (2) brothers: Edward Morgan, Sr. and Malcolm Morgan (Sue); (1) sister-in-law, Theresa Chavious; (1) brother-in-law, Joseph M. Chavious; (2) devoted friends: Robert Clay and Veronica Fitzgerald; and a vast number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by (1) sister, Evelyn Morgan Garrett; and (2) brothers: John Thomas Morgan and Joe Morgan, Sr.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Morgan will be Tuesday, September 24th at noon with services at Dan River Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Wilkerson, eulogist.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
