Mrs. Marie Oliver Blake of Alton, VA died on Saturday, August 31st at the age of 88.

 

Mrs. Blake was born April 10, 1936 in Halifax County, VA to the late Harry Keister Oliver and Lelia Wade Oliver. She was married to the late Kasey Blake. At an early age she joined New Bethel Baptist Church, Alton, VA.

 

Mrs. Blake is survived by (2) brothers: Harry Oliver (Thelma) of Fort Washington, MD, and Nelson Oliver (Arnetta) of Bronx, NY; (1) stepson, Nelson Blake of Brooklyn, NY; (1) brother-in-law, Allen Seymour of South Boston, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (2) sisters: Eva O. Carrington and Doris Seymour; (2) brothers: Robert Oliver and William Oliver.

 

Funeral and services for Mrs. Marie Oliver Blake will be Friday, September 6th at 1:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Bigelow, eulogist. Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Cemetery

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, one hour prior to the service.
