Ms. Shirley Lester Edmunds of South Boston, VA died on Saturday, August 31st at the age of 60.

Ms. Edmunds was born July 20, 1964 in South Boston, VA to Mamie L.  Edmunds and the late Wilbur E. Edmunds.

​

Ms. Edmunds is survived by (4) sons: Pierre Edmunds (Shameka), Kevin Edmunds and Tevin Edmunds, all of South Boston, VA, and Joshua Edmunds  (Kayla) of Scottsburg, VA; (11) grandchildren; her mother, Mamie Edmunds; (3) sister: Diane Pollard and Tarsha Edmunds, both of Richmond, VA and Gale Edmunds of South Boston, VA, (1) brother, Freddie Edmunds (Shermaine) of Halifax, VA; stepmother, Barbara Jean Edmunds; (2) brothers-in-law: Leon Ragsdale and Victor Greene; and a host of other relatives, and friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by (1) brother, Wilbur E. Edmunds, Jr., (3) sister: Patricia Edmunds, Pamela Moorman, and Doshie Ragsdale.

Funeral services for Ms. Shirley Lester Edmunds will be Thursday, 11:00 at the Crawford House Chapel, Halifax, VA. A Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
