Mr. George Arthur Lipscomb of Alton, VA died on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the age of 81.

Mr. Lipscomb was born July 12, 1942 in Halifax County, VA to the late William Thomas and Francis Satterfield Lipscomb. He was married to Dorothy Ophelia Lipscomb and was a member of Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Lipscomb is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lipscomb of the home; (2) sons: Ricky Johnson of Alton, VA and George Lipscomb (Samanthia) of Blairs, VA; (2) grandsons: Cordara and Deion Lipscomb; (8 ) great grandchildren; (2) sisters: Ola Lee Johnson and Mattie Lipscomb Ewell; (1) brother, Algie Lipscomb (Pamela); (1) brother-in-law; (2) sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (2) brothers: William and John Lipscomb; and (1) sister, Lottie Mae Norwood.

Funeral services for Mr. George Arthur Lipscomb will be Sunday, June 30th at 3:00 p.m. at Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Galloway, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

​

Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service Sunday.
