MRS. LILLIE GALE WILLIAMS NEWMAN

 

Mrs. Lillie Gale Williams Newman of South Boston, VA died Wednesday, August 23rd at the age of 77.

 

Mrs. Newman was born in Halifax County on February 28, 1946, to the late John Williams, Sr., and Carrie Smith Williams. She was married to the late Lawrence Thomas Newman, Sr. and was a member of Greater Mayfield Apostolic Church.

 

Mrs. Newman is survived by; (1) sons: Thomas M. Newman of the home; (2) sisters: Agnes Williams of South Boston, VA, and Betty Walker of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (2) sisters: Ruth Williams and Shirley Williams; and (3) brothers: Junior Williams, John Williams, Jr. and James Williams.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Gale Williams Newman will be Saturday, September 2nd at 11 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Garden Cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends Friday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home on Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m.
