Mrs. Rose Marie Sims of Clover, VA died on Wednesday, November 29th at the age of 99.

 

Mrs. Sims was born in Halifax County, VA on September 16, 1924 to the late Edd Delaware and Sylvia Carden Delaware and was married to the late James E. Sims, Sr. She was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Sims is survived by (1) son: John H. Delaware (Bettie) of Clover, VA; (6) grandchildren; (12) great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, including the devoted Sylvia Wilson (Herman) and Shauntel Wilson. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) son: James E. Sims, Jr; and (9) siblings: John, Charles, Howard, Peter, James, Lewis, Clyde, Thomas, and Alfred.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Marie Sims will be Saturday, December 9th at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church with Rev. Alfred Chandler, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
