Mrs. Hallie Sue Meadows of South Boston, VA died on Sunday, November 26th at the age of 93.

 

Mrs. Meadows was born in Halifax County, Virginia on June 8, 1930 to the late Johnny Bailey and Gertrude Crowder Bailey. She was married to the late Samuel Louis Brooks and later married the late Hubert Meadows.  She was a member of Owens Grove Baptist Church and was employed at Cluster Springs Elementary School for over 30 years.

 

Mrs. Meadows is survived by (6) children: Mary Sue Hughes (Sherman), Fannie Harris (Jesse), Melvin Crowder (Amanda), Judy Brooks, Jennifer Robertson (Louis) and Bernard Brooks (Rosa); (1) stepdaughter: Annie Jane Meadows; (15) grandchildren; (3) step-grandchildren; (30) great grandchildren; (43) great greatgrandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) grandson: Andrew Lamont Brooks and (1) great grandson: Jerry Jeffery Sydnor, Jr.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Hallie Sue Meadows will be Saturday, December 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Owens Grove Baptist Church with Rev. John Leigh, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
