Mrs. Cecil Lorraine Dance of Halifax, VA died on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the age of 80.

 

Mrs. Dance was born in Halifax County, VA on July 24, 1943 to the late Bernard Howard Wilkerson and Susan Tabitha Penick Wilkerson. She was married to the late James C. Dance and was a member of Banister Hill Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Dance is survived by (3) sons: James W. Wilkerson (Teresa) of Upatoi, GA, Kovacs Dance (Cheryl) of Halifax, VA and Rev. James L. Dance (Page) of Bowie, MD; (2) daughters: Angela Dance of Reistertown, MD and Amy Dance-Lewis (Artis) of Randallstown, MD; (11) grandchildren; (3) great grandchildren; (1) brother: Richard R. Wilkerson of Halifax, VA; (4) sisters: Laura Dance-Paterson, NJ, Yvonne Hankerson of Fredericksburg, VA, Althea Penick (Ledges) and Susan C. Wyche (Lindbergh), all of Halifax, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) brother: Willie Junior Wilkerson.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Cecil Dance will be Saturday, Nov. 18th at 2 p.m. at Banister Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. William Carr officiating and Rev. James L. Dance, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Dance and Wilkerson Family Cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax.
