Mr. Chester Arthur Farmer, Jr. of Halifax, Virginia died on Wednesday, October 25th at the age of 82.

 

Mr. Farmer was born in Virginia on April 5, 1941 to Chester Farmer, Sr. and Rexie Rone and was married to Christinia Christopher Farmer. He was a bus driver for Halifax County Public Schools and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Farmer is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Christinia Farmer; one uncle, Jesse Rone (Anna); one sister, Patricia Marable; two step-brothers: Daniel and Cortez Crosby; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Shelton and Joyce Wood Russell; his five adoring children: Edgar Eugene Farmer (Lolita), Lisa Michelle Bowman (Robert), Arthur Andre’ Farmer, Dr. Dwanda Lee Farmer, and Chester Ahannam Farmer; nine grandchildren;

eight great grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Chester was preceded in death by his two beloved brothers, Robert Eugene Farmer and George Wood, and a devoted step-father Edgar Crosby.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Chester Arthur Farmer, Jr. will be Friday, November 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Willie N. Yancey, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday, November 2nd from noon until 6:00 p.m.
