Mr. Otis Henry Major of New York and formerly of Halifax County died Sunday, October 15th at the age of 72.

Mr. Major was born in Halifax County, VA on December 24, 1950 to the late Henry Edward Major and Pearl Brandon Major.

​

Mr. Major is survived by (1) son: Kelly Major (Nicole) of Jenks, OK; (1) granddaughter, Amira Major; (1) brother: Samuel Major (Bee) of New Jersey; (2) sisters: Dorothy Bailey (Eugene) and Clarice Bailey (Thomas), all of South Boston, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded by in death by (2) daughters: Zena Major and Talaya Major; (1) son: Hasan Boatman; (1) brother: Charles “Rudy” Major; and (1) sister: Loraine Major.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Otis Henry Major will be Saturday, October 28th at 11 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home with Rev. Moses Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
