Vickie Barley Palmer

Minister Vickie Barley Palmer of Halifax County, VA died on Friday, October 13th at the age of 60.
Minister Palmer was born in Danville, VA on July 18, 1963 to Lesley Barley and Ida Earl Miller Barley and was a member of New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church.
Minister Palmer is survived by her children: Corey Barley of Martinsville, VA, Adrianne Barley of Halifax, VA, Niesha McLaughlin (Curtis) of Greensboro, NC, Destiny Palmer of Halifax, VA, Shaun Barley, Latoya Palmer, both of Nathalie, VA, Quenton Barley of Gretna, VA, Darius Barley of Houston, TX and Antivione Barley of Danville, VA; (4) sisters: Teresa Irvin (Alvin) of Java, VA, Louvenia Dixon (Percy) of Fayetteville NC, Jacquelin Barley of Java, VA, and Sharon Jennings of Halifax, VA; (1) brother: Lesley Barley (Tracey) of Durham. NC; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (1) grandson: Jamarion Barley.
Vickie was a light in darkness and played a great part in raising so many children and individuals! Her love overflowed boundlessly that time would not allow naming the many lives influenced by her love. Every act of kindness was appreciated throughout her life, and we know that she was forever grateful for the lives she touched as well as that she was touched by!
Funeral services for Minister Vickie Barley Palmer will be Saturday, October 21st at 11 a.m. at South Boston Church of God with Pastor William Terry, eulogist. Burial will follow in New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church Cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
