Mr. Orlando Lee Irby, II “Train” died on Tuesday, September 26th at the age of 61.

Mr. Irby was born June 16, 1962 in Halifax County, VA to Mariam Hall and the late Orlando Lee Irby, Sr. and was married to Brenda Johnson-Irby.

​

Mr. Irby is survived by his wife, Brenda Johnson-Irby of Richmond, VA; (1) daughter: Ashlee Irby-Shelton (Kyle) of Richmond, VA; and (1) son: Orlando Lee Irby, III of the home; his mother: Miriam Hall-Carrington of South Boston, VA; (4) brothers: Michael Irby (Karen) of Washington State, Jamie Lykes (Myrah) of Statesville, NC, Philip Carrington of Richmond, VA, and Willie Poindextor (Brenda) of Mechanicsville, MD; (1) step brother: Edwardo Holt of South Boston, VA; (5) sisters: Katrina Irby (Zach) of Ohio; June Irby (Levon) of Florida; Edwina Irby of Clarksville, VA, Connie Irby of South Boston, VA, and Monique Carrington of Burlington, NC; (5) brothers-in-law; (1) sister-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by (1) brother: Anthony Irby; and (2) brothers-in-law: Melvin Duncan and Gregory Johnson.

Funeral services for Mr. Orlando Lee Irby, II “Train” will be Friday, October 6th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Ferry Street, South Boston, VA with Rev. Earl Cornelius Johnson, eulogist. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday, from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston, VA.
