Mr. Jesse Lee Sims died on Sunday, September 24th at the age of 71.

Mr. Sims was born in Halifax County, VA on June 30, 1952 to the late Julia Wilson Sims and Lee Bailey Sims. He was first married to Loretta Barksdale and later Gloria Johnson Sims.

​

Mr. Sims is survived by (3) sons: Jesse L. Sims, Jr. (Cora), Gregory M. Johnson (Melissa) and Jay Johnson Sims; (1) daughter: Ilia D. Hashman (Matthew); (3) brothers: Lloyd C. Barksdale (Carolyn), Larry D. Sims (Vicki) and Sherrell D. Sims (Jackie). (14) grandchildren, (3) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (1) brother: James E. Wilson.

Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Lee Sims will be Sunday, October 1st at 2 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel. 

​

Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
