Mrs. Emily Pearline Pounds Griffith of South Boston, VA transitioned to be with the Lord Sunday, September 24th at the age of 92.

Mrs. Griffith was born March 18, 1931, in Halifax County, VA to the late Edwin Pounds and Sophronia logan Pounds and was married to the late Lemont Griffith. 

​

Mrs. Griffith leaves to carry on her legacy (2) daughters: Deborah Bond (Benjamin) and Lakeeta Mayfield; (17) grandchildren; (25) great grandchildren; (1) great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) son: Jerone L. Griffith; (1) daughter: Benita G. Wanzer; (1) granddaughter: Jahnell L. Hammonds; (4) brothers and (5) sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Pearline Pounds Griffith will be Sunday, October 1st at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer CME Church. Burial will follow in the Pounds Family Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will he Saturday, September 30th from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel.
